Course Equivalency Guide
CAS is the official repository of CEG rules for the state of Arizona for Fall 2000 and beyond. For community college courses taken before Fall 2000, the paper Course Equivalency Guide remains the official document.
The CEG calendar year runs from Summer Session I through Spring Semester.
This CEG does not indicate if a course will meet major requirements. In some cases, the manner in which the course applies may vary, depending upon the major you select.
For best results, select "Use CAS" and "New Account" to create an account for yourself and use the Course Applicability System to determine how your coursework will transfer. Students should also consult an academic advisor at their target institution to determine how transfer course work will apply to degree requirements.
Lower-division courses (i.e., those numbered 100-299) which are equivalent to university upper-division courses will be transferable as equivalent but with lower-division credit. These courses need not be repeated at the university but will not count toward the required number of upper-division credit hours.
Equivalencies change according to the year and term during which you complete the course. Equivalencies may change in future terms. The CEG cannot guarantee equivalencies for future academic terms. To find equivalencies for past academic years, use the "Search all CEGs button" and select the academic year when you took the course.
Usually, the following types of courses are not intended for transfer, and therefore they may not appear in the CEG. See an advisor for specific information.
Remedial courses or courses numbered below 100
Arizona Government University courses
Cooperative Education
Developmental courses
Experimental courses
Post-baccalaureate courses
Contractual training for business, industry and government
University-to-university equivalencies for ASU, NAU and UA may not include all courses offered by each of the universities. As articulation agreements are created for university-to-university transfer, these agreements are included in the CEG.
